AFFILIATIONS

Mr. Acevedo is the former Vice-Chairman of the Fortune Society’s Board of Directors, an organization whose mission is to assist justice involved individuals. Mr. Acevedo is a current member of Fortune's Advisory Board. From 1988-2008, he was also the Vice-Chairman of Prisoners’ Legal Services’ Board of Directors. Prisoners Legal Services is the largest provider of civil legal services to New York State inmates.

Mr. Acevedo is also a member of the CJA panels for criminal defense in the Southern District of New York and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. As a public service, Mr. Acevedo regularly undertakes pro bono representation of indigent individuals in various matters. Mr. Acevedo is also a member of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York, the Federal Bar Council, the Hispanic Bar Association and the Association of Federal Defense Attorneys.
